Welcome Our New Charles Hay Principal and Assistant Prinicpal

Assistant Principal Kate Tober- 

Katherine Tober, or “Kate” as she prefers, is our new assistant principal.  She’s coming to us from Aurora Public Schools and is thrilled to join the Hay community.  Kate brings 20+ years of experience in education, most of it spent in early childhood special education.  She’s a licensed teacher, Board Certified Behavior Analyst and school administrator.  Most recently, Kate worked with Aurora Public Schools as a district-wide special education and behavioral coach.  She’s passionate about providing all children, regardless of their abilities, with what they need to succeed each and every day.  Once an early childhood educator, always an early childhood educator, and as such, Kate believes strongly in inquiry-based learning and bringing the real world into the classroom for meaningful academic experiences.  

In her private time, Kate enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Tony, and two children, Will and Sophie.  She and her family escape to the mountains whenever possible, hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter.
